Three Classes Preluded the National Day cultural event

秋季佛商禅修班、禅茶班、三日禅共同开班,拉开2017正觉寺国庆文化盛会序幕
the Autumn Buddhist Bussinessmen’s Chan class, the Chan Tea Class for Buddhist Businessman and the Three-day Chan Class opened at the same time, preluding the National Day cultural event of Zhengjue Monastery
In such an autumn season with full of the aroma of osmanthus, the opening ceremony of the Buddhist Bussinessmen’s Chan class, the Chan Tea Class for Buddhist Businessman and the Three-day Chan Class at Boshan Zhengjue Monastery of Shandong province was held on October 1st, 2017, preluding the National Day cultural event. Students from all over the country gathered together to start their journey of meditation.

These courses coincide with the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, which filled the whole temple with jubilant and auspicious festive atmosphere. The eight-day holiday of the National Day gave students ample learning time, and some students even took their families to spend the Mid-Autumn Festival together. In such a season for people to ascend a height to enjoy a distant view, the ancient temple shows a prosperous scene that can be described as"Enjoying beautiful scenery with the reunion, cultivating blessings and wisdom in an ancient temple during golden autumn.”
At 19:30 in the evening, the opening ceremony was held in the Zhengjue Grand Auditorium. Ven. Master Renda, Abbot of Zhengjue Monastery, Yu Zhongcai, the head of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau of Boshan District,Master Juexing, Master Miaojing and Master Miaozhao attended the meeting.
After a brief introduction, Ven. Master Renda announced the opening of classes, appointed monitors of three classes respectively and granted the class boards. Then the monitors shared their thoughts one by one in such a jubilant atmosphere.
Qiu Yadong, the monitor of Buddhist Bussinessmen’s Chan class, said:” I hope everyone can gain and understand something here and use what you learn as I did, and I also hope you can bring what you will learn in Zhengjue Monastery into you lives and families, thus spreading the boundless love of Zhengjue Monastery to the whole society and practicing the principle of loving people, loving ourselves, loving our families and our lives.”
The monitor of Chan Tea Class for Buddhist Businessman Huang Qian who comes from Chengdu said:”I really look forward to the upcoming three-day classes. I believe that a deeper learning of the excellent traditional Chinese culture is of great significance for an enterprise and especially the lead. Zhengjue Monastery provides us with the very opportunity. What’s more, I also hope we, as Buddhist businessmen, can be more refined, and our enterprises will have a bright future with sound corporate culture.”
Zou Yonggang, the monitor of Three-day Chan Class, said;”I become more energetic, good-tempered and healthier after attending Chan Tea classes. I feel really happy and satisfied by the benefits I have got here. I wish Chan Tea a better future and could be propagated to the whole world.”
Yu Zhongcai, the head of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau of Boshan District, introduced students to the rich historical and cultural heritages of Boshan, reviewed the construction process of Zhengjue Monastery, affirmed a series of achievements Zhengjue Monastery has made under the leadership of Ven. Master Renda and especially praised the far-reaching significance of the branding of Chan Tea. Mr. Yu spoke highly of Chan Tea culture in the following aspects: first, it refreshes the way of the inheritance and development, prosperity and advancement of traditional Chinese culture; second, it serves as a new way to the prosperity and development of China's Buddhism culture; third, it opens the cultural exchange and the interactions of the “Belt and Road Initiative” a window; fourth, it offers people who like Chan Tea culture and hold faith in Buddhism a spiritual home.
At last, Ven. Master Renda gave a summary speech for the opening ceremony. He said that the construction and development of Zhengjue Monastery is closely connected with the supports from four aspects: first, the supports of the CPC and the government; second, the blessings of the Buddha and Bodhisattva; third, the supports of believers; fourth, the cultivation and practice of monks. To the students of Buddhist Businessmen's Chan class, Ven. Master Renda emphasized on learning wisdom of Buddhism and found century-old enterprises; He encouraged students from Chan Tea Classes ( Chan Tea Class for Buddhist Businessman and Three-day Chan Class) to cultivate diligently, learn deeply from Chan Tea culture and shoulder the historical mission of promoting excellent Chinese Chan Tea culture to the whole world under the “Belt and Road Initiative”.
After the ceremony, "National Day cultural event" of Boshan Zhengjue Monastery in 2017 is also officially opened with the start of all classes. In addition to Autumnal Buddhist Businessmen's Chan class, Chan Tea Class for Buddhist Businessman and Three-day Chan Class, the National Day cultural event also has various cultural activities including the mid-autumn tea party to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the consecration of the whole monastery on Oct 4th, In-depth Chan Tea class for volunteer Buddha Painting Class and the selected artworks exhibition of Calligraphy and Painting by Zhengjue Monastery Painting and Calligraphy Academy.
